Dr. Mark E. Flowers is the senior pastor of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Springfield, Ma. Under his leadership, Mount Calvary has grown to a church with 3 Bible Study Fellowships and several strategically effective Kingdom-centered ministries that postures the church towards being a relevant force towards communal justice.

Dr. Flowers was formerly the pastor of Corinth Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, NY. He has facilitated workshops and seminars in such area as Church Choral Music, Liturgy, Worship, and Christian Education. He has also contributed to the development of published materials for the New York Theological Seminary through his research and dissertation: Restoring the Black Church to its Multi-Faith Identity: Honoring Indigenous African Worship. Dr. Flowers is an engaging teacher and motivational expositor whose ministry expands into his service with the International Center For Ethno-Religious Mediation (ICERM) and as Professor of African American Religions at Springfield College in Springfield, MA.

A native of Mt. Vernon, NY., Dr. Flowers studied Business Management at Howard University and graduated from Concordia College with a bachelor's degree in Music and Education. He has received the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from New York Theological Seminary.

Dr. Flowers is married to Renee T. Woodard Flowers and they are the proud parents of a daughter, Radiance Ruby, and a son, Solomon David.

Reverend David A. Lewis

Executive Assistant to the Pastor

Reverend David A. Lewis Sr. was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on October 17, 1968. He is the younger of two boys from the union of Albert Lewis Jr. and Dorothy L. Lewis (Story). He also has a paternal, older stepbrother and two, older stepsisters. Reverend Lewis is married to Kim Lewis and they have three boys, David, Malik and Madison. Reverend Lewis grew up and graduated from Commerce High School. Reverend Lewis attended Springfield College where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and a Master’s Degree in Social Work.

Reverend Lewis is currently a Therapist at Valley Psychiatric Services where he has been employed since 2001.Reverend Lewis’s professional board memberships include, Broken Chains Ministry Board of Directors, Faith Unlimited Institute Board of Directors, Springfield Neighborhood Housing Board of Directors and The Phoenix House Community Advisory Board. Volunteer memberships include, NAACP, National Black Alcohol and Addictions Council (NBACC).

Reverend Lewis became a member and was baptized at Mount Calvary Baptist on 17 John Street in Springfield Ma at an early age under the Pastoral leadership of Reverend Gordon C. O’Neal Jr. He served singing in the Children, Youth and Adult Choirs. He served on the Children, Youth and Men’s Usher Boards. He taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and Bible Study.

Reverend Lewis preached his first sermon and was licensed in 2000 under the Pastoral Leadership of Reverend Walter Silva Thompson Jr. Reverend Lewis’s ministry service includes, Prison Ministry Coordinator and Higher Learning Addiction Recovery Ministry.He is currently The Associate Reverend of Youth Development and Community Initiatives at The Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Reverend Dr. Mark E. Flowers.

Reverend Lewis believes that our Purpose as believers is to praise, please and serve God.He believes that believers have been given the ministry of reconciliation through Jesus, The Christ and that effective ministry involves the community. Our Mission is clear (Mathew 28:15 “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.) The rational for the mission is clear (Romans 10:14-15 “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?”) My Mantra is JESUS SAVES.

Reverend Aishea Lewis

Director of Christian Education

Aishea is the oldest daughter of Trustee Jamie-Lynn Shider and the late James A.D. Shider. The granddaughter of Mrs. Juanita Youmans and the late Mr. James Youmans, and Mrs. Catherine Moody Shider and the late Mr. David Shider. The sister of Ms. Chauncey Shider and the proud aunt of Miss Zarria Shider-Washington, Master Zavion Singleton and Minister Maestro Terrance Shider. Professionally Aishea has worked tirelessly as an advocate for children and their families for many years as an Adult Education Instructor, a Career Preparation Supervisor, a Bilingual Proctor Supervisor and as a Bilingual Care Coordinator.

Aishea has always been an avid learner of languages and speaks Spanish fluently, she also has conversational skills in German and Arabic. A lover of history and of the peoples of this world, Aishea studied abroad at 14 years old in VeraCruz Mexico through Rotary International Exchange program. While in college she spent a year at the American University in Cairo as well as the Universidad de Sevilla. Throughout it all, Aishea has been a servant of God. Aishea was baptized in March of 1991 in Mt Calvary Baptist church in Springfield, MA. She was a member of the Youth Usher Board, Youth Choraleers and many other youth ministries until going away to Xavier University of Louisiana. After obtaining her Bachelor’s of Arts, Aishea came back to Springfield to work with and for underprivileged children.

Aishea was a former member of both Zion Community Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Baptist church. Aishea currently is an avid bible study participant and is active in the CYCM ministry, the Choir and the Culinary Angels. Aishea has also participated in various committees in Mt. Calvary, more recently she is involved in the 95th Anniversary Committee and this year’s Women’s day committee.

Patricia McCray Davis & Eboney Felicia Davis

Sister Eboney Felicia Davis and Sister Patricia McCray Davis are true worshipers and have consistently inspired the faith community of Greater Springfield to Worship God in Spirit and in Truth from the very depth of their being. Sister Patricia McCray Davis was reared in the Historic Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Springfield and serves as Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Baptist Progressive Women’s Ministry, Celestial Choir, Chancel Choir, Sunday School and Church Secretary/Pastor’s Administrative Assistant.

Sister Patricia Davis is a consummate “mover and shaker”, who is known to get things done. Whereas her roots are deep in the Baptist denomination; still, her worship transcends any traditional denominational rubric: she simply loves the Lord with all her might-which she, together with her strong husband: Brother Frank L. Davis has translated to her darling daughter: Sister Eboney F. Davis. Sister and Brother Davis have always been the staunchest advocate for their miracle daughter. People had their methods, opinions, concepts where Eboney regarding the well being of Sister Eboney, however, Sister Patricia and Brother Frank believed God, not just for her well-being, but that she would indeed be well!

This audacious kind of zeal for God is true worship. Hence God granted the Davis’ favor: for Sister Eboney is well. Eboney worships God daily, without prodding, pumping or pushing: Eboney simply loves the Lord her God. God has gifted her with wellness evidenced by her vocal skill, piano acumen, perfect pitch, and more importantly her love for God’s people. Together, both Sister Eboney and Sister Patricia can inspire church parishioners in such a way that if you prefer remaining in the pew, just watch Sisters Eboney and Patricia jump up, rock and clap- its infectious, you cannot help but to join in. They are the true Miriam’s Gift to the Faith Community.

Reverend Jeremy Liddell

Minister of Music

Reverend Liddell was born in Charlotte, NC to the late Pastor James & Vickie Liddell. At around 10, the Liddell family moved to Pine Bluff, AR where he began his journey as a musician by playing drums in church and learning to play the piano and organ. He was encouraged by his mother to exclusively play the piano and organ for a local Baptist church at age 14. As a high school student, he excelled in both choir and band, having earned placements in the All-Region Choir, All State Choir, and All-Region Band multiple times as well as winning multiple talent shows.

Rev. Liddell was 16 when he answered the call to preach the Gospel and gave his first public sermon at 17. He served as an Associate Minister under his father until his passing in 2010. Rev. Liddell moved to Massachusetts in 2017 to marry his wife Tiffany; they welcomed their baby boy: James in 2021. Rev. Liddell has an A.A. from STCC and is pursuing B.S. in Criminal Justice at Westfield State University. Presently, he teaches music at both the Chestnut Middle School and Discovery High School and has been noted as a guest director for many high school choirs in Western Massachusetts. He remains committed to serving God with his gifts as they all belong to God to effectuate divine Kingdom.

Marcus Mckinstry

Director of Media & Tech. Ministry

Marcus McKinstry was born and raised in Springfield, MA, and has been a lifelong member of Mount Calvary. He's a son of Joe McKinstry, a Minister within the church, and Dorothy McKinstry, a Missionary, and lifelong member of the church. Combining his passion for technology with his church involvement, Marcus helps manage the church's streaming service and maintains its website. With a background in Computer Science, he bridges the gap between faith and the digital realm, helping the congregation stay connected and informed.

Beyond these roles, Marcus extends his assistance to fellow members by offering tech support for their computer-related issues. If you need assistance with a PC problem, Marcus can be reached at jinjoe@zoho.com
