Senior Pastor

Dr. Mark E. Flowers is the senior pastor of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Springfield, Ma. Under his leadership, Mount Calvary has grown to a church with 3 Bible Study Fellowships and several strategically effective Kingdom-centered ministries that postures the church towards being a relevant force towards communal justice.

Dr. Flowers was formerly the pastor of Corinth Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, NY. He has facilitated workshops and seminars in such area as Church Choral Music, Liturgy, Worship, and Christian Education. He has also contributed to the development of published materials for the New York Theological Seminary through his research and dissertation: Restoring the Black Church to its Multi-Faith Identity: Honoring Indigenous African Worship. Dr. Flowers is an engaging teacher and motivational expositor whose ministry expands into his service with the International Center For Ethno-Religious Mediation (ICERM) and as Professor of African American Religions at Springfield College in Springfield, MA.

A native of Mt. Vernon, NY., Dr. Flowers studied Business Management at Howard University and graduated from Concordia College with a bachelor's degree in Music and Education. He has received the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from New York Theological Seminary.

Dr. Flowers is married to Renee T. Woodard Flowers and they are the proud parents of a daughter, Radiance Ruby, and a son, Solomon David.
